# Sharing Profiles

DR Sim Manager allows users to share motion profiles with each other, enabling a community-driven experience to enhance and customize motion simulation across different games.

## Sharing Profiles on the Departed Reality Discord Server

Users can share profiles by posting them in the `#drsm-profiles` channel on the [Departed Reality Discord server](https://discord.gg/skn2HzpbQy). This channel is dedicated to profile sharing, allowing you to discover new profiles for different games or upload your own for others to use.

## Accessing the Profiles Folder

To access the Profiles folder quickly:

1. Open DR Sim Manager.
2. Right-click anywhere in the main interface.
3. In the context menu, select **Browse Profiles**.

This will open the Profiles folder located at:

`C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\DRSimManager\Profiles`

### Note:

Replace `<UserName>` with your actual Windows username.

## Profile File Format and Structure

* Profiles are stored in `.json` format, ensuring easy customization and editing.
* Each game has its own folder within the Profiles directory, organizing profiles by game name. For example:

`C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\DRSimManager\Profiles\AssettoCorsa\`

* Inside each game folder, you will find various `.json` files, each representing a different profile configuration for that game.

## Adding New Profiles

1. **Download** the desired profile `.json` file from the Discord channel.
2. **Copy** the profile file to the appropriate game folder in the Profiles directory (e.g., `C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\DRSimManager\Profiles\AssettoCorsa`).
3. **Restart DR Sim Manager** to load the newly added profiles. Profiles copied while DR Sim Manager is running will not appear until the application is restarted.

## Tips for Sharing Profiles

* Add all applicable tags (hexapod, belt, thanos, etc) to any profile you share on the Discord channel to help other users with similar setups find profiles.
* Different types of simulators and setups will react differently to profiles. For the best experience, use profiles from users with the same controller and simulator type.
