Wave Generator Cue
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Wave Generator Cue produces a continuous repeating waveform on a selected motion axis. It is primarily a testing and calibration tool — useful for verifying that your simulator hardware is responding correctly, checking range of motion, and tuning other cues in a controlled, predictable environment.
The waveform runs independently of any game telemetry, so it works even without a game connected.
Controls
Section titled “Controls”- Select which motion axis the waveform is applied to: Sway, Surge, Heave, Pitch, Roll, or Yaw
- Only one axis is active at a time
Frequency
Section titled “Frequency”- Controls how many cycles per second the waveform completes (in Hz)
- Higher values produce faster oscillation; lower values produce slower, sweeping motion
- Default: 1.0 Hz
Amplitude
Section titled “Amplitude”- Controls the intensity (size) of the waveform motion
- Higher values produce larger movements
- Default: 1.0
Waveform
Section titled “Waveform”- Choose the shape of the generated wave:
- Sine: Smooth, continuous oscillation — the most natural-feeling motion
- Triangle: Linear ramp up and down — useful for testing consistent speed across the full range
Tuning Tips
Section titled “Tuning Tips”- Use the Wave Generator to verify each axis moves correctly before tuning other cues
- Set a low frequency (0.2–0.5 Hz) and moderate amplitude to safely check full range of motion
- Switch between Sine and Triangle waveforms to observe how your platform handles smooth versus linear motion
- The waveform only runs while the motion system is active — press Start to begin output
- Disable the Wave Generator when you’re done testing to prevent it from interfering with game-driven motion
