Bass Shaker Cue

The Bass Shaker Cue generates audio-frequency haptic effects through bass shaker (tactile transducer) hardware mounted to your rig. It produces low-frequency vibrations that simulate specific in-game events like engine rumble, gear shifts, road texture, and aerodynamic effects — adding a layer of immersion that complements platform motion.

Effects are organized by vehicle type, with separate sets for driving and flight games. The active effect set switches automatically when the game type changes.

  • Piston Engine: Simulates engine vibration based on RPM. Choose from multiple engine type variants to match the character of different vehicles.
  • Road Texture: Produces vibration based on tire surface contact, with per-tire positioning for rigs with multiple transducers.
  • ABS: Pulses when anti-lock braking is active.
  • Rev Limiter: Adds a distinct vibration when the engine hits the rev limiter.
  • Gear Shift: Produces a short impact when a gear change occurs.
  • G-Force: Generates a low rumble proportional to lateral and longitudinal G-forces.
  • Piston Engine: Simulates propeller-driven aircraft engine vibration based on RPM (shared with driving).
  • G-Force: Generates rumble from G-forces during maneuvers (shared with driving).
  • Speed: Produces vibration that increases with airspeed, simulating aerodynamic noise and airframe stress.
  • Landing Gear: Adds vibration during gear deployment and ground contact.
  • Stall Buffet: Creates shaking as the aircraft approaches a stall condition.
  • Propeller: Simulates propeller-driven vibration patterns.
  • Blade Pass: Generates blade-passing vibration for propeller aircraft. Select the number of blades to match your aircraft.
  • Turbine: Simulates jet engine vibration. Choose from Turbofan, Turboprop, or Turbojet variants.
  • Flaps: Adds vibration during flap deployment and aerodynamic loading changes.
  • Speed Brake: Produces vibration when speed brakes are deployed.

Each effect has the following controls:

  • Enable/Disable: Toggle checkbox to activate or deactivate the effect
  • Variant (select effects only): Dropdown to choose a variant — for example, engine type or blade count
  • Intensity: Slider (0–100%) controlling the strength of the effect
  • Test Button (▶): Plays a 1-second preview of the effect when the bass shaker output is active, useful for verifying transducer response without needing to trigger the event in-game
  • Start with all effects at their default intensities and adjust after driving or flying a few laps/circuits
  • Use the Test button to verify each transducer is working before fine-tuning intensities
  • Road Texture and Piston Engine are typically the most impactful effects for driving — prioritize tuning these first
  • For flight, Turbine/Propeller and Speed effects provide the most consistent background rumble
  • Effects are spatially positioned — if you have multiple transducers at different locations on your rig, effects will be louder on the transducer closest to the simulated source (e.g., engine vibration is stronger at the front)
  • Keep intensity moderate (30–60%) for most effects — subtlety creates more realism than overwhelming vibration
  • The Bass Shaker Cue is independent of the Vibration Cue — the Vibration Cue moves the platform, while the Bass Shaker Cue drives audio transducers
