Advanced Yaw Cue

The Advanced Yaw Cue provides additional control over the yaw (rotation) axis of your simulator. It offers three features that refine how yaw motion is handled: a deadzone to eliminate small unwanted yaw movements, roll-to-yaw mixing for a more immersive cornering feel, and an unlimited yaw mode for simulators with continuous rotation capability.

  • Sets a minimum threshold for yaw movement
  • Any yaw motion below this value is ignored, reducing jitter and unwanted micro-movements
  • Increase the deadzone if you notice the platform making small twitchy yaw movements when driving or flying straight
  • Blends a percentage of the roll axis motion into the yaw axis
  • Creates a more natural cornering sensation by adding a subtle rotational cue when the platform rolls
  • Set to 0% for no mixing, or increase for a stronger combined effect
  • Particularly useful in driving simulations where turning involves both roll and yaw
  • When enabled, the yaw axis accumulates rotation continuously rather than returning to center
  • Designed for simulators equipped with a continuous rotation (slip ring) yaw mechanism
  • The platform tracks the vehicle’s heading in real time, wrapping around at ±180°
  • Not available in manual control mode
  • Only enable this if your hardware supports continuous yaw rotation — standard platforms should leave this off
  • Start with the deadzone at 0 and increase gradually if you notice unwanted yaw noise
  • A small Mix Roll value (5–15%) adds subtle realism to cornering without feeling exaggerated
  • If using Unlimited Yaw, ensure your Sim Config travel limits accommodate continuous rotation
  • The Advanced Yaw Cue processes after the Primary Cue, so tune your Primary Cue yaw settings first
